2007 Nissan Versa
572007 Nissan Versa Review
Almost a year ago I purchased a dealer certified 2007 Nissan Versa hatchback. Let me start by saying for a car in its class I am very impressed. I will list some quick pros and quick cons and then expand as I write this article.
Pros: The price was great with 100,000 mile drive train warranty. It is available in several colors. The turning radius is awesome. Interior space is much larger then it looks on the outside.
Cons: Gas mileage is a bit unpredictable, will explain later. Overdrive tends to kick in a little too often on hills.
I test drove several cars in the same class and the Versa was my pick. What sold me was the amount of space inside the hatchback. It looks small on the outside but is much larger on the inside and can seat 5 people with reasonable comfort. Secondly, the turning radius in amazing, this car can turn on a dime and fit into the tightest parking spots. Lastly, it comes in several colors and for the first time ever I bought a car in my favorite color, blue.
Now for the few cons... The gas mileage is a bit odd. I took a 5 hour drive in July with A/C on and got 36 MPG. I took a similar drive a few weeks later under same conditions and got 32 MPG. Short miles eat through the gas as well. Also the overdrive on moderate hills seems to kick on and off instead of staying steady.
Overall, I love this car. I can park it anywhere, it can hold a ton of stuff with the hatchback, and it really is fun to drive. It has more pep then you would think for a car in its class. It handles well and feels like a glove on tight, winding roads. If I had to do it over I would still buy this car.
